Chilling out by the fire is all well and good, but sometimes a dry space is needed to escape from the elements. The Outdoor Classroom has been a lockdown project and has evolved over the past few months, from an original design of a roundhouse to a 21st Century autism-friendly space.
The main beams have all been sourced from the woodland – ash and oak make the uprights and poplar trees have provided the beams in the roof. This has helped with woodland management and also means that the build is sustainable. DBT Carpentry, managed by Dan, have provided the expertise and we are well on the way to getting a bespoke covered area that will complement the ambience of The Outdoor Place.
